Dariusz Libionka
Historian, associate professor at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, director of Majdanek State Museum Research Department, editor-in-chief of Zaglada Zydow. Studia i Materialy (Holocaust Studies and Materials)
Born 1963 in Bielsko-Biała. graduate of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) and the School of Social Science attached to the IFiS PAN. Since 1994 he works in the Polish Contemporary History Section of the IH PAN and, since 2000, in the Bureau of Public Education of the IPN in Lublin. His articles appeared in „Dzieje Najnowsze”, „Biuletyn ŻIH”, „Polska 1944/1945-1999”, and in „Yad Vashem Studies”. W 1998 r. he defended his Ph.D dissertation titled "The 'Jewish Question' in Polish catholic Press in the 1930s". The dissertation is currently prepared for publication. He had recently published: "Polska ludność chrześcijańska wobec eksterminacji Żydów – dystrykt lubelski" (Polish -Christian Population and the Extermination of the Jews - the Lublin District; Armia Krajowa i Delegatura Rządu wobec eksterminacji Żydów; Kościół katolicki, antysemityzm, Zagłada (The Home Army and the Delegatura Rzadu and the Holocaust; The Catholic Church, antisemitism and teh Holocaust) - all of the above forthcoming. Dr Libionka had also edited a book titled „Aktion Reinhardt” The Extermination of the Jews in the General Gouvernement, to be published before the end of 2004.
