Research Grants for Graduate Students and Scholars in the History and Culture of Polish Jews

We are pleased to announce three research grants (15,000 NIS each) for graduate students based at universities or similar institutions of higher education in Poland who are working on various aspects of the history and culture of Polish Jews. The same amount will be granted to for a scholar permanently based at a university or similar institution of higher education in
Poland who is working on various aspects of the history and culture of Polish Jews.
These awards will enable graduate students (with a preference for PhD candidates) from Poland to spend one semester (three months) as visiting research students at Tel Aviv University. Fellows will enjoy access to University libraries and archives as well as other academic services. They will also be encouraged to consult with faculty from Tel Aviv University on their dissertation and to participate in periodic research seminars.
This award will enable a scholar from Poland to spend one semester (three months) as a visiting researcher at Tel Aviv University. Fellows will be affiliated with the University's Institute for the History of Polish Jewry and Israel-Poland Relations and will enjoy full access to University libraries and archives as well as other academic services.
Fellows are expected to be in residence during any period they should choose between October 2010 and August 2011.
Please note that plane tickets and accommodations are the responsibility of the fellows.
Applications should be sent to the Institute by email (polin@post.tau.ac.il) and include the following materials:
1. An updated CV (including a list of publications)
2. A brief research proposal
3. A letter of recommendation from the department or program chair and a letter of support from their supervisor
Deadline for submission: January 31, 2010
Applicants will be informed of the Institute’s decision by February 25, 2010
